Protect your lineage

There’s depth to family
especially when you have a son.
Build his character with honor
& nurture his soul with faith.
Never stop teaching him
so he continues to mature
with resilience & patience.
Allow him to make mistakes,
to taste embarrassment
& feel failure,
but guide him through his regret
because nothing is worse
than a broken spirit.
As he grows
he will master contentment
so his hardships
will never destroy him.
He will protect his happiness.
He will fight with principle.
He will love with strength.
He will embody everything
you taught him
because you raised him
to be a warrior.
Stable with perseverance,
a gentleman with a switch,
a philosopher of life;
and a father to his own son.
